Kia Cerato 2016, Manuell 250.000 km.
My speedometer is bouncing up and down when the car is driving on pumpy roads. I went to a mechanic. He told me to change the speedometer sensor, so I did. The problem is still there. He is now saying that the problem is probably the speedometer in itself. The problem I have with this theory is that when I get into very pumpy roads and my right front tire goes in to a “small hole” the steering wheel becomes weak. And less sensitive. I don’t know what’s causing this. It lasts for some seconds and then the steering wheel becomes more stiff (robust) and normal. This worries me. Hope you have some good advice.
Does cruise control work properly?
Yes, i checked right after The problem occured. But i installed a cruisecontrol myself since my Car didn’t have one. Can this maybe be the cause of the problem?
As for the steering issue I would start by taking the front tires off and taking a really good look around. Look for missing bushings on your control arms or sway bar links if everything looks as it should u may have a worn out tie rod. Sounds like something may be going on with the steering rack.
Ok. I’ll look into it. Thanks. You don’t think it has anything to do with the speedometer/cruise control? So the steering wheel is probably a different issue?
