I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota SXT 3.9l 6cyl. with just over 184,000 miles.
Truck runs fine, speedometer comes and goes. Replaced the speed sensor on the transmission. Not having a check engine light or an ABS light. All other gauges work fine.

A faulty speedometer would not trigger a warning light.
You could try checking and cleaning connections to the instrument cluster but most likely your 21-year-old speedometer has an intermittent internal fault.
