Spinning cooling fan, but car overheats in traffic

I own a 2008 Benz GL550. It runs normal without any issues, but will experience overheat while standing in traffic and fan start spinning at a very high speed. Car cools once I move even if it's not more than 100m, as long as I try to move the car fast. A friend suggest the fan might not be sucking air from outside despite it's spinning normal. This problem started when a mechanic jacked the engine to remove steering rack and I noticed the engine was pressing the fan against the radiator. Has anyone experience car overheats in idle but cools while in motion?

Well obviously messed up the cooling system somehow. Check to see if any hoses are bents not the lines bent or if the air is restricted in the fan. Can't suck enough

Maybe the radiator is internally blocked by/after (being dented by)  the 'intrusion' of the fan caused by that supportive mechanic?
