Hello, I own a 2012 Cadillac SRX 3.6 and I got it at 80k miles two years ago.2 owners/accident free with stellar carfax and it now has 128k miles. It’s starting to need work and I recently got approved for a 2023 ford escape ST line with 27k miles. I think it’s a 1.5 liter engine but it could be the 2.5 I’m not sure what I should do. It can get really pricey for the repairs on the Cadillac and I’m not sure how long it will last mileage wise because it’s at 128k. The ford has a powertrain warranty up until 60k miles. Should I fix my Cadillac or move on to the ford. I do love my Cadillac but it’s older and it is depreciating daily. I don’t want to put a bunch of work into it if I have no equity but I don’t want to jump into the escape and be unhappy with the end result. The ford is the best price for right now that’s why I’m only considering that one vehicle. Or fixing SRX. Please help
Look into getting a Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4. Ford had recalls affected those vehicles' fuel injectors. Rather than fixing the fuel injectors, they put some system in that detects fuel leaks. The ultimate band-aid fix. There is nothing quite like riding around in your SUV and playing Russian Roulette/driving a molotov cocktail if your fuel injectors start leaking.

That's pretty much irrelevant. The Escape is depreciating too. In fact, the Escape is going to depreciate even faster than the SRX now. Remember, the original owner always takes the most depreciation when they sell the car. The SRX is also depreciating, but it's not happening nearly as rapidly as that Escape. Once the car turns 25, it becomes a classic car, and it might start increasing value again. They only made like 10,000 Chevy SSRs before they stopped producing them. That's now a collector's car. The SRX isn't like that.
