Steering to light / sensitive

Hi Scotty,
I watch your YouTube channel all the time, great channel
I have a question for you.
I have a 1998 GMC K2500 SLE pickup. 4 wheel drive , manual Transmission , 7.3L gas engine. ( I had the engine replaced with a new 454 RV spec engine, it has less than 8,000 on it now.
I find that the power steering is way to light / sensitive on this truck. After 50 -55 miles an hour it’s no fun to drive, you’re constantly having to make little steering adjustments going down the road to try and keep it between the lines. I had the truck checked out. The fount end isn’t worn and doesn’t have any issues, and it’s been aligned too. The tires are fine and they aren’t not wearing funny.
Is there something I can do to this truck to fix the overly sensitive power steering? At this point I would rather have no power steering than too much.
Thanks for your time in advance.

    Respectfully

      JT

on 23yo vehicle, I wouldn't be surprised if the steering box was worn out.
