Civic LX 2008 with 220 000km (automatic)
A stud broke during a wheel change. So i just bought a new stud. But when i tried to install it, it was loose in the hub ?? as if the new stud was too small. I could spin it with my fingers, so its really loose.
So i whent somewhere else and bought another stud, and same thing. Old stud was thight in the hub and required a few knocks with a hammer as usual. Nothing abnormal.
i tried to reinstall the broken stud to see if i streched the hole or something when i removed it. But its very thight as usual.
How can this be ??
Sounds like a wrong part. If its a cheap aftermarket the metal knurle may be too soft.
i bought 2 studs from two different places. Could be a faulty batch that was at both stores 🤷🏻♂️. I could stop by honda dealer and buy a stud to try.
Get a OE stud, they are not too expensive.
