Hey Scotty!

Are the Subaru CVT transmissions any good? I'm looking into Crosstreks between 2018-2021.

Thanks.

The Subaru Linetronic isn’t that good to be honest.

When a family member came to visit he got a rental Impreza CVT and the belt was already slipping badly at 50,000-ish miles.

They’re kidna overall decent enough, but i wouldn’t dare to call them good…

just change the fluid very frequently.

So so. Getting better. 21>18

The CVTs don't last beyond 100k miles. They are decent cars, good ones with a manual, still good but expensive to repair transmission type of cars with an automatic.

Listen that CVT is one of the better ones made now. Don’t tow with it is the main thing and come to a complete stop before shifting. My moms crosstrek has been great for her. Subaru says the fluid is good for 100k mi. Eh depends on your driving habits. It’s a pain in the ass trying to change that fluid and a shop is going to charge a decent amount.
