I have a 2023 subaru forrester. Upon morning startup the motor has a 1800 rpm that last for 3 minutes before coming down to a normal 700 rpm. That seems like a long time and a high rpm to have when shifting into drive. Can this be rectified?

Check your owner's manual to see what it says about engine warmup.

does it need to be "rectified"
Have you correlated the idle speed with engine temperature and fuel injection metering system status?
