Subaru Forester AT OIL TEMP flashing

Topic starter

My 2016 Forester with 104000 Km, well maintained, transmission fluid replaced last October…..is showing AT OIL Temp flashing indicator during running. Twice now in 3 days. A local professional scanned the codes and suspected the Solenoid gone bad. No mechanical issue or oil leak. Is it true that we can’t replace the sensor alone?? Whole unit costs Canadian Dollar 2000 it seems! Should I check with the dealer? They are usually expensive!
regards,

Raj from Toronto, Canada

they're usually part of an assembly. Not really a user serviceable part. The problem may not be the sensor though it could just be the wiring or fluid in the connectors.

you bet your sweet bippy they'll be the most expensive.

I would take the car to a transmission specialist.
