I’m trying to upgrade from a 2015 Ford Focus sedan. I placed an order for a Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend in November. This week I decided to test drive a Subaru Forester. I’m trying to decide if I should cancel the Sport and go with the Forester Sport trim. i have always owned domestic cars and Ford has been the best brand I’ve owned. I typically keep my cars for 7 to 8 years. Which do you think is the better buy?
The Bronco being a new model is an unknown quantity and Ford has infamously saddled its customers with defective products in recent years. The Forester would probably be my choice between those two, though you need to be wary of the CVT which is the car's weak point. (Change CVT fluid periodically, ignoring Subaru's "lifetime fluid" mantra, and don't tow with the Forester or go around hot-dogging it.)
I'd be leery of the Broncos at least for a couple of years. I like the look of them.
Bronco has been covered here extensively. The search box is your friend.

Get the Subaru. Ford has forgotten how to build quality vehicles.
Definitely go with the Subie.
Subaru Forester all the way. Much better quality than the Bronco and all Foresters are made in Japan so that's a bonus.
Thanks you all for the comments. I think I’m leaning towards the Forester.
Ford - Quality is job none. You would be severely disappointed with the Ford product of today.
The Ford Bronco SPORT is built on the Ford C2 platform which is the SAME platform as the Ford Focus.
(The Ford BRONCO not sport is a completely different car.)
With the Bronco Sport, it is basically a glorified Ford Escape or super glorified Ford Focus.
Long term quality aside, IMHO, younger more for your money with the Forester than the Bronco Sport
Taking into account long term quality, the Forester probably has the Bronco Sport beat.
Of the two...Get the Subie
