What is your opinion of the 2021 Subaru Forester, standard model??
Go for it. My only qualm (and fascination) is with the flat engine. While it is an intriguing design choice that leads to better center of gravity, spark plugs are a little more challenging to change versus a Toyota or Honda.
but hey, if you only change plugs every 100K miles or so, it really isn’t a deal breaker.
For sure. It took me the same amount of time to replace the 4 plugs on my daughters Crosstrek as the 16 on my wife’s Grand Cherokee. Although to be fair, Subaru’s are extremely easy and cheap to work on otherwise.
Depends on your expectations of how long you intend to keep it. Will probably get to about 10 years 100K-150K miles OK. I wouldn't expect it to last double that the way a Toyota or Honda is likely to do. Weak point is the CVT transmission. Apparently Subaru dealers won't even change the fluid in them, saying it's a "sealed unit".
