Subaru throw-out (release) bearing noise

Hey Scotty,

I have an 2017 Subaru WRX base 6speed with about 71k miles.  There is a "bird chirping" noise that can be heard until the clutch is pressed in, and found out it is my throw-out bearing making that noise. I've read that for the models from 2015+ have that issue and Subaru has released the fixed part but isn't covered under factory recall or my warranty since they said it was under "wear and tear".  My clutch still feels alright and no issues while driving.  I'm not sure exactly when the noise started, but if I had to guess it was about 20k-ish miles ago. How long can I drive with this issue, how serious is it, and would you recommend that I get it repaired asap?

Thanks!

It seems that the clutch is somewhat engaged and when you press the pedal, it will be released. If this is the case, you can drive it until the clutch wears out.
