Suzuki Grand Vitara 2003 Hesitation?

Hi Mr Scotty! My Grand vitara goes little bit backwards when accelerating? Is this a symptom of a bad automatic transmission failure or engine misfires? Thanks

More often it means the transmission is starting to go out
