Glad you made your way out of Houston california HAHAHA.
My question is more of a should I or shouldn't I.
I have a 1967 type 3 VW Fastback stock condition with the first roll out of the Bosch EFI. The computers are hard to come by and I am thinking of swapping out the original engine to a type 4 engine with dual carbs and make it a daily driver.
Any thoughts or suggestions? I have been on other websites but they are all about making it go faster, I just wanna enjoy a ride in a quiet smooth rolling vehicle.

actually that's a very smart move because those early EFI systems were garbage as they aged and would dual carbs they become very simple all you got to do is get a little carb synchronizer so you can synchronize the carbs
Bosch corrected all EFI issues in mid-67 and from then, they worked so reliably some considered them boring.
A very common engine replace for you 67 is to use a 69 1.6L with the remedied EFI, a virtual shoe-in. Keep it cool, do routine maintenance, it runs like a top.
Otherwise, nobody liked the fastback, while the squareback sold a lot better and had a big following.

As fate would have it I get two answers that I keep running into, HAHAHA! Flipping the coin of destiny might be my way out, at least it's not russian roulette.
Then I get that one of " do the subaru swap" I am leaning on computer elimination and that Subaru swap is just a can of worms I can do without.
