I have a 2003 ford taurus with 183k miles on it, and this is my first oil change since taking ownership of this car. I am looking at putting high mileage 5w-30 full synthetic oil in the car, but will this harm the engine if it previously had a different oil in it?

Just use whatever oil recommended by your owner’s manual, for your vehicle. And don’t flush it.

Synthetic.....make sure it’s the same velocity.....
