How bad is the 2.7 liter 4 cylinder engine on the tacoma. As a daily driver and for carrying lawn mowers on the bed during summer time. I know that toyota announced the change to the 4 cylinder engines and the v6 100 times better. I just want to know how bad the v4 really is.

I have a '19 access cab 4x4 Tacoma with the 2.7 and have no problems in the hills & mountains of PA. It does fine in the mud and snow and hauls as it should. I don't tow with it as I have nothing to tow. Gas mileage is good and I'm very happy with it. I've put larger tires on it (275/70-16) and no problems whatsoever. Good truck.

The 2.7L naturally aspirated I4 is just fine.  In fact, Scotty’s son owns a Tacoma with the I4.  For lawn mowers it should be more than adequate.  In fact, where I live I see lots of gardeners with the I4 engine.
