Hey Scotty , I got a 2020 4 door Toyota Tacoma 4 cyl. that makes a whining noise whenever I take off and hit around 30-40 mph . I feel like it makes truck slows down whenever the whining starts and it back to normal when it goes away . What could it be ?

That’s a brand new vehicle which is still under warranty. Make a video of the symptoms & take it to your dealer. Show them the evidence & make them fix it!

Wish I could but the noise is too faint for my camera to pick it up

It may be the alternator if you’re experiencing loss of power when the whining begins.
However, whatever it may be, the dealer needs to diagnose it correctly & fix it. Do not settle for anything less on a brand new vehicle.

I will let their mechanics know when I go in for my first oil change which is due next Saturday , hopefully they find what’s making that noise

Where do you hear the noise? Under the hood or from the tires?

@yaser
Seems to be coming from the engine bay
