Hi, Scotty. Been watching for many years. Can you recommend a legitimate Transmission control module repair or replacement service that is not a scam. I am restoring a 1990 Nissan D21 SEV6 auto that is in bad need of a repair or replacement. I have tried two different online services. One said my unit can't be repaired and the other has sent the wrong replacement. Does a reliable service center even exsist? Thank you for all you do.  Dennis Horton. [desperate].

What places have you bought from? Were these parts OEM, remanufactured or from a junk yard? How much did they offer?

Found this after a very quick google search (not affiliated in ANY way) -

hey, if this works out, you are the man! thank you

No worries. Fingers crossed it’s a genuine part & works as advertised. I suggest calling them first and asking about the refund process, in the event you run into issues.

sometimes electronics are what's called BER (Beyond Economical Repair).

You might be better off finding a salvaged unit.

this is the last piece to make this a drive able truck . too much invested to quit now.

I didn't suggest quitting. Look for a TCM from another D21.

Nope.

I had an issue with a transmission sensor (on a rare car, under 100 still on the road in my country) The only place I found them for a reasonable price was China. Also I found that many parts can be obtained only in Russia (things like DCTs shafts, bearings and other internals you typically wouldn’t find elsewhere)

AutoStrong in Belarus is probably the biggest used parts dealer that might still sell 30 year old Nissan parts - I don’t know if they ship to the US but imo they should be able to… (AM NOT RELATED TO THEM IN ANY WAY)

thanks for the input. This is a great old truck. I'll keep looking.

No luck in Belarus. But thanks for the tip. Some one somewhere ought to be able to repair this unit.

I’d just go to salvage yards and see if I can find a similar car…

I’ve seen a video from a diagnostics mechanic’s channel who just couldn’t find an ECM for a relatively recent Ram pickup…
Computer modules are a huge issue… and you can see what a huge mess it is.

Neatcomputer repair in Florida returned my TCM with refund of $100 saying it was un repairable. Moduleexperts of Florida just sent the wrong replacement that cost $350. From what the negative reviews about them say, I doubt if I get my money back. We will see. Today is Saturday so I can't start the return process till Monday. Surely my TCM is fixable in the right hands. Any suggestions? Thanks for the reply.

the replacement tcm looks to be a salvage item
