I'm looking at the thinkcar scanners and wonder what people think of them? I had the blue driver but am looking for something with more functionality.
Autel MX808, powerful and under $400 bucks, that’s my pick 😀
This won’t answer your question about the Thinkcar scanner. I don’t have experience with them, but you did mention you want something with more functionality. That being said, I suggest you also look at Autel - Scotty, the Car Wizard, and many others I know seem to use Autel which is arguably the best bang for the buck scan tool out there for those needing more functionality.
For scanning every computer module, I strongly recommend the Autel Maxicheck MX808 which is about $400, and the cheapest tablet-style scan tool (if you are fond of tablets). However, it does not have bi-directional control.
If you do buy an expensive scan tool (several hundred to past $1,000), I strongly recommend you buy from one of the company’s authorized dealers if you care about support, service, and warranty, and to make sure you don’t get scammed. Some of those expensive ones from Amazon are not North American models and if you need to have it serviced you have to send to China! And Amazon is NOT an authorized dealer for Autel.

You can check to see if your vehicle is covered here, as well as what modules it scans:

One place I recommend buying from: they are an authorized Autel dealer (and I bought from them before; they answer questions right away and service is great.)

I only recommend Autel scanners. Excellent quality and some are very affordable.
