Hi Scotty, think I could get Toyota to pay to repair my Oil Burning Engine in my 2008 Lexus IS350?
What do you think my chances are?
Know of others who have gotten Toyota to cover the $8k repair (my quote) entirely? Partially?
I'm asking their corporate headquarters, but still waiting for the reply.
Any advice on what I should tell Toyota?
Thanks! Love your videos.
2008 Lexus IS350
120k miles
Automatic 6-Speed Trans
Owned since new and maintained regularly.
Burning a quart or two every 1000 miles.
Toyola/Lexus got back to me and said they aren't going to do anything to help me with this problem.
You never know wait for the reply and see. That engine wasn't one of the ones that a TSB was sent out for and even that is void due to age so I doubt you will have any luck but I guess its worth a shot.
Probably not because the car is maybe old
Well, I have an open Case with Lexus National Headquarters. They told me to expect a response today from their "Case Manager" on this Incident.
Fingers crossed!
Here is the latest relating to the Class Action Lawsuit against Toyota for their Engine Oil defect: http://www.toyotaproblems.com/excessive-oil-consumption/
If also contains information on what you can do to file a complaint about your own engine burning issue if you have it.
I am confused. That link lists the FWD-based cars with the 2AZ-FE engine which is a 2.4L I4. But your Lexus IS 350 is RWD-based vehicle with a longitudinal engine 3.5L V6 (2GR-FSE).
True, but the problem is the same in this engine. Although it wasn't included in the Class Action.
