I looked at a 2008 Toyota sienna with 190,000 miles on it. Good condition, runs great, but there is oil all over and around the pulleys and low oil. What could it be? In my searches Ive really only seen the oil pump and camshaft seal could be the problem. He is asking $2500 for it but negotiable. There are a few stains on interior but clean. Driver side slide door is off track so have to open and close manually. Some of the clear coat is starting to peel, and some cosmetics. so is the oil more than likely the seals? Is it worth buying and fixing? And what should I offer?
Tell him that if he gives you $500, you'll haul it away.
And what should I offer?
Offer him a polite greeting as you sprint in the opposite direction.
That engine is infamous for oil leak. If the fromt timing chain cover has leak, it is a big expense.
