What are your thoughts on a 2006 Ford Five Hundred with 90k miles on it for 2.5k?

If your mechanic gives you a green light, it can be a decent car, especially with that price.

We are talking about a car that's based on the Volvo P2 platform modified to reduce costs - so basically a cheaply made late 90s Volvo.
Most of these had a CVT transmission - these Ford-ZF units are some of the most out there, they average about 90k miles.
If it's a CVT - run.
