Greetings Scotty! I wanted to know your thoughts on a 2016 Ford C-Max with 120,000 miles for $5,000. I saw one the other day and I would like to know your thoughts and opinions about it since they have CVTs.
thank you
Not a fan of used hybrid car especially with this mileage. On the other hand the price is very low which maybe because it needs some work too.
I would pass on any used hybrid that have high mileage like that one (including the Toyota Prius which make the best hybrid systems out there).

Putting 120k miles on a car in five years stop and go city driving is damn near impossible. It's likely mostly highway mileage, which is equivalent to about 10% of city mileage.
However, as others have said, it's a used hybrid, and they cost a fortune to fix when they begin to age.
I would also be leery of the price. 5k for a 5 year old vehicle seems way too good to be true.
Well they are hybrid cars which is a minus since they don't last as long as a non-hybrid car, but it's a 2016 and ur talking about buying it for $5000. Make sure you take it to a mechanic who specializes in hybrids or someone that can really analyze it and is a professional to check how everything is and that it doesn't have any issues with the hybrid system, no salvage or rebuilt title and if it has those issues don't buy it, but if it runs good, shifts good, and its in good shape, go ahead and buy it.
