I have a 2004 Corolla SE. 187,149 miles. 1.8L engine, automatic. The throttle body needs cleaning. Can I simply disconnect the battery and then I will be able to spray clean and move the throttle plate? And doing so will not mess with the Electronics? I find it too good to be true.

I think you should unplug and remove the throttle position sensor (TPS) and idle air control valve (IAC) before spraying down the throttle body to be on the safe side. Some cleaners and the gunk you remove could mess them up.
