I have a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser with a 2.0 n/a 5 speed manual (engine code: ECC) gasoline engine. I have recently cleaned the throttle body using throttle cleaner (I took off the part... didn't clean it on the vehicle). After that i have noticed that while driving if I take the foot off the gas pedal the car doesn t perform engine brake as it should. It doesn t decelerate too much (the vehicle almost keeps the same speed especially at lower speeds). If i put it in neutral while driving. The RPM s stay at 1500 until i brake to a full stop and then they return to normal idle. If i rev the car while parked there are no signs of malfunction. No check engine light has come on. I have also checked the throttle cable and it s moving freely. Could it be a faulty IAC valve? Would replacing it solve the problem?
Thanks
Well it could be but if it all happened after you cleaned it, the cleaning might have damaged some of the electronics inside. If you use bad cleaner it can do that. That's why I only use top quality companies for cleaners
