I have a 2013 Honda Accord Touring with a V6 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. Lately the tighten gas cap light comes on after driving for a while then goes out until I drive a distance then it comes on again. Sometimes it comes on a short time after starting the car from cold, sometimes not. I replaced the gas cap ( with one from AutoZone without a tether if that makes a difference) and the problem still exists. This is driving me to distraction. What is the problem and what can be done about it?

You probably have a leak in your evap system, which the gas cap is part of.
