top end rebuild after blowing a head gasket

The two longest car repairs I've done were on my 1999 Honda Accord.

1) Water Pump / Timing Belt / Balancing Belt

Mind you, I've never done anything like this before.  So many road blocks.

The first big hurdle was getting the damn bolt off.  It would have been so much easier if I had an impact.  I used a long pipe cheater bar.

Most of the time was doing a tool run, because I didn't have the right tool.

The other part of the time was correcting mistakes, like fishing out broken bolts.

And one of the tough parts for me was getting all the gears and pulleys aligned at the same time, to put the belt on.

Scotty and others make car repair look so easy!!!

2) Ball Joint

I had trouble with a damn nut that would not screw on the bolt.  Tried every damn trick in the book.

I am having to wait on new pushrods to finish my top end rebuild and the parts are heavy

Timing and other belts and water pump replacement on 2002 Suzuki Swift took a weekend to do the job.
