Hi Scotty,
My 2007 Lexus GX 470 has 370k miles, and needs a timing belt. Should I have it done at a small garage or should It be done at a Lexus dealer?
Thanks,
Oona

Find a good local shop to do the work. Dealerships are the most expensive option, frequently tend to upcharge and ripoff, and don't necessarily have the best mechanics working for them.

Just make sure to use the oem equipment. The kits can be bought from amazon, or if you know and trust the mechanic to use oem, you could go that route.
I had a bad experience using aftermarket stuff, and had I not been watching the temp gauge, I may have missed that it spiked. Water pump went out at 80k, aftermarket junk that was recommended by mechanic friend.
