Normally I go to a mechanic which is competent . Occasionally the Acura dealership. I have a 2007 Acura TL  with 83,000 miles on it. Perfect perfect reliability I'm just so impressed but my question is the Acura dealership pressures me to get the timing belt changed!  should I or should I not? Or would you wait tell X number of thousands of miles? It's garage it's in perfect near-perfect shape. My mechanic let me bring in parts I spend thousands Less on parts.

Well it is a 14-year-old car in the timing belt is made out of rubber which will degrade over time.plus that engine is an interference engine if the belt breaks the Pistons hit the valves and destroy the engine if it was say a Toyota with a non interference engine you could drive it forever it might not break for 10 years but if it breaks on that Acura goodbye engine so I would change it
