I had a 2010 tacoma. Bought it new. It was a cheap single cab. I traded it in last month. It still had original drum brakes on the rear with 107k miles. I took it to my mechanic at 70k miles and at 100k. He said that they were still good. I have never heard of any brakes lasting that long. Had the original tires up until 65k miles. They sure don't make any other vehicle as good as a toyota. I bought a brand new 2021 tacoma. Its great to finally have 4 doors. Just wanted to brag a bit.
I want to kept the old one they were all made in the San Antonio and a new ones are made in Mexico let's hope the Mexicans don't screw it up
Rear brakes do very little work. They mostly just keep the vehicle going straight like a rudder when you're braking. They last a very long time.
Cool story. I'm glad you had such a good experience with your old truck.
Here's hoping the new one will be the same, or better.
I have a 1981 Toy 4x4 pickup, 40 years old. Still runs great.
I am curious it’s still possible to find parts for 40ys old vehicle?
What a super durable machine!
It is very easy to find parts for my 40 year old truck. Remember, the 22R engine, transmissions and most everything else was used on millions of other Toyotas of the time period. The aftermarket for these vehicles is huge. I have no trouble at all.
I hope Toyota keeps up with the reputation of the Tacoma. They are such good trucks.
