Timing Chain Tensioner's Oil Leak

Hello Mr.Kilmer,

I just got my timing chain tensioners replaced for my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. The upper tensioner is doing good, but the passenger side tensioner kept leaking oil. We tried to place the washer to stop the leak, but it didn't work. I read forums and found 40 people had this issue with the passenger side tensioner even when using the washer. So, we used a gasket silicon to ceil it and so far I don't notice any leak. However, is this the best solution for this issue? P.S. I'm your fan from Kuwait !

Best regards,

Mohammed Alrashed

Wow replacing the tensioners with newly updated units is the best way but if yours holds for a while what the heck

Does the updated units means I have to get the washer for it eventually ? I'm worried if I did that again, the leak might return.
