Hello, checked the Scotty channel on YouTube and was wondering what would be best to do. I have a 2010 Corolla with roughly 300,000 miles and have a check engine light. I have been told it was multiple things that I've sense then fixed and then something else pops up. At the moment I'm dealing with a timing chain replacement supposedly however other than that I'm not sure what else there is besides changing an axle. I payed a mobile mechanic to change some things before and he said that he would get me quotes on the rest of the repairs. After reaching out and not getting feedback for 2 months I gave up and just tried to wait till I could get other things situated. As of a couple weeks ago I noticed that my car is having issues getting out of first gear. I'm not sure what to do.

Well with that kind of mileage there could be a zillion things wrong. Considering that the engine is probably relatively worn and if it really needs a timing chain, there's more wear than just that it might be time to say goodbye to the car. How often you're better off getting a used one with much less mileage than putting many thousands in an old worn out one
