Looking for a used car. I been on Facebook marketplace but everything seems so expensive. Craigslist is also littered with dealership deals. Any tips on findings cars sold by actual owner.
Craigslist has a button at the top left side of the page that says "Owners". If you hit that button you'll filter out all of the dealership nonsense.
The filter fills out SOME of the dealership nonsense. There are semi-professional car hawkers who work for dealerships, but set up as if they are owners. The best way to tell is to look at the title. Run away if the title is in any other name than the person you're talking with. As the X-Files Mulder would say "trust no one," only verifiable facts. There's many twists to the used car game con.
For dealers, you could use autotempest which combines all the car buying sites into one area. I use craigslist for private party, all you have to do is filter it "by owner"
