Too Many LED choices

I want to upgrade my dome light in my '89 'yota 4x4 pickup.  there are tons of LED Options.  none truly state the lumens.  some do state the 6000 color type, but not much more.

I believe i need a:

DE3175BSYLLED FESTOON type (whatever that is).

can someone fill me in for the brightest output LED dome light bulb out there?  i hate buying the wrong thing!  some claim the LEDs they purchased weren't any brighter than their OEM incandescent bulb!!

It's true. I've tried many and they're usually not that bright. On top of that, the quality of the light (spectrum) is awful and actually makes it harder to see.

If you really want to go this route you're better off replacing the fixture or adding additional ones.

try these. They're cheap as chips from China so at least you don't have much to lose.

@MountainManJoe:

thanks so much for the reply!  nothing worse than buying something that just doesn't cut it!!

my buddy put LED's in his Trooper cockpit and i'm not sure if its the blueish color that makes his cab seem brighter or they actually are brighter.  he's not gearhead at all, but he's runnin' 'em!  he was gonna go with LED Headlights as well, but his son told him they're illegal so he passed.  i was thinking of that myself, but i don't need the Po~Po pullin' me over any more than necessary!

what to do, what to do... gettin' old SUX's!!

I think he's a very slick salesman.
Try them. Let us know if they're any good.

Crap... Check That... the board type shown at 21:54 will NOT work... too big!

damn i gotta headache.  too much to go wrong. 27mm is a bit harder to find. some says,"5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing fancy, but they work. Brightness is the same as the incandescent.

i guess being "Whiter" may appear brighter?  some even said "caused smoke/fire"!!

so, even if i go with Trusted Napa, i'm sure it won't be any brighter...

i'm just shovelings cyht against the tide... {black}:tears:
