Why do luxury cars offer touchpad/dials whereas regular cars offer touchscreens?
Take a look at Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus. The consumer brand has touchscreens. The luxury brand has touchpads.
What’s the logic behind this? One would think a manufacturer would be all in on either touchscreen or touchpad regardless of consumer or luxury division.
Why do they do this?
The logic is they are snob mobile so they have to be different than the cars that the common man drives
I agree the whole thing is stupid I've driven new lexuses and I thought the system was absolute crap
because they know discriminating customers prefer dials. Good responsive controls are more expensive to make.
These days it's cheaper to slap a touchscreen on something, and let the programmers do the software.
