Toyota 1990 MR2 SW20 A241E auto problems

Hey Scotty, hope all is going well 👍

I've got problems with the auto trans. If I drive like an old lady, it's fine, but as soon as I try to take off any quicker, or put the foot down while moving, the box slips and the engines just revs more.

I do need to change the oil and filter (I know only a 1/3 comes out so I would need to change it about 3 times at least?).

If not the fluid, how do I know whether it's the torque converter, or internal friction discs in the box?

The E in A241E is for electronically shifted, but it definitely feels like the workings of the box.

Thanks for any help you can provide 😉

Regards James

I know just normally internal where I mean you could gamble take it apart for a torque converter and see what happens if that's so much work and it may or not fix it anyway you look at it's going to cost a fortune unless you do the work yourself and it's very complex stuff on automatic transmission..
