Hi Scotty,
I have a 2018 Toyota CHR that I had purchased brand new from the dealership. The other day I got a letter in mail recalling my vehicle for a block heater issue. The letter also states the the problem won’t be fixed until later in the second half of 2022. My major issue is they would have to unhook my block heater for the rest of this winter yet would be okay if I lived in a warmer climate but I live in a city in Northern Canada. Have you heard of these issues before? What’s should I do since I need my block heater for the rest of the winter months here.

If the problem with the factory block heater is so serious it needs to be left disconnected probably the only option is going to be install an aftermarket heater.
