Are Toyota engines too thin?

It is said that Toyotas cant have Engine Re-Builds or be machined because the engine is too thin? Therefore, they are considered disposable cars that can go up to 400,000 miles. Were there ever any older Toyota models that could have and engine re-build or be machined? maybe the older models that have steel engines? Does anyone know what years?

even if it's possible, it doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Remanufacturers like ATK, Jasper and Powertrain Products and many other don't seem to have a problem re-machining and rebuilding Toyota engines.  It is said by whom that the engines are "too thin?"

The cylinder liners are too thin to be reworked. The engine can be rebuilt, but where old liners get removed and new sleeves installed. quite an involved process. Can't remember what tv car show I saw it on.

What about the older models from the 80's?

Like I just said, it doesn't seem to be a problem for major engine rebuilders, quite a process or not.

It is said by whom that the engines are "too thin?"      A friends father of mine who works on Toyotas, In one of Scotty Kilmer's vide on not saying too thin, but he himself said they can't be machined and are disposable, and a video from the car care nut who is a master Toyota technician at a Toyota dealership in Chicago. Ok, the cylinders cant be re-worked but the engine rebuilt. Great. Thanks.
