Which used car is recommended for $10,000 budget?

So, I’m in the market to buy myself a used car. Obviously, I want something that will last, and work with a budget of $10,000. I’ve been looking at a few different vehicles like the scion xb, ford ranger, honda civic, toyota corolla, and a few others. Assuming each of these has around 100,000 miles, which would be best? And if there are any other vehicles you think I should look towards, I’m open to suggestions! Maybe hidden gems I’m unaware of?

Stick to Toyota or Honda. Avoid those model years that have common serious issues (you may find them in this forum).

Of those you listed, it would be a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla.  Do a search on this forum for better years and/or years to avoid.

Definitely Honda or Toyota. You cannot go wrong with a basic civic or camary. If you get one go with the 4 banger. They are built better, last longer and cheaper to maintain. Compared to 6 cylinder. Just stay away from German cars especially Mercedes.

From your list go for the Civic or Corolla if you want something that will last you a long time. Something to keep in mind is that in general Honda and Toyota cars have a higher resell value too and the market is crazy now so you more than likely have to look at higher mileages. Video below is from Scotty on civic and corolla years to avoid.
