Hello!
Yesterday i picked up my 2004 (6 speed manual, 360k km) Toyota Celica from the mechanic. He changed the front struts but the top mounts are not looking even, please see the youtube link:

Is this concerning? The struts are brand new, made by Optimal with new flages and mount bearings
I asked the mechanic why its like that and he told me its normal, but doesnt look normal to me
Thank you!
No, that's not normal. Those are quick struts I am assuming and I never advise using quick struts. I've never used that particular brand myself, but personally I never use quick struts. I take the assemblies apart and replace the strut assembly and then reuse the springs on top because I found the quick struts are generally not the greatest in the world
Thank you for answering! I'm sorry I forgot to mention I reused the old springs. What i'm not sure about is if i can continue driving like that (the car drives fine) I tried looking at explosion diagrams online and it seems to be some kind of dust cap that sits over the main strut nut, but i'm not sure if it affects the geometry of the strut. Can you please advise me? Thank you!
