my parent's 2010 corolla (70k miles) having engine light on last week, scanned: P0015 - Camshaft position "B" timing over retarded (bank 1) came out, and i heard very abnormal engine noise from passenger side and rattle noise when the car start, also pretty noticeable vibration from idling, what would it be and can it be fixable with basic tool?

Well either your timing chain is worn or the tensioner needs replacing or you have serious where in the variable valve timing pray it ust needs attention a good mechanic can figure that out
