Hello, I have a 2009 Toyota corolla 1.8L A/T, "runs" and drives perfectly. I was just driving normally until I start to hear a squealing, hissing noise coming from the engine, I have a radar detector that detects voltage and I got a low battery warning, I pull over and the noise is coming from the alternator, Is there anything I can do before buying a new one? Or just get a new OEM one now. I am not the original owner and do not know if it was replaced, but based on the look, I believe it is factory.

make sure to load test your battery, or the new alternator will start getting overworked too
I will be replacing battery and alternator
