Hi Scotty,

I have been following you for a few years now and was convinced on going for a used RAV4 petrol until I saw this video . I am now more confused as I now have to check what engine is fitted. I am looking for Rav4 in 2018/2019 automatic. Im in the UK and currently drive a 2020 Skoda Karoq and not wanting to keep it for long as it will need a new cam belt at 45k at £900.

the 2018 is great. They changed then engine in 2019. At least here in North America.

From what I remember from car care nuts channel, he loves the dynamic force engine. He said they're one of his faves. I think they sound loud.

Which engine are you referring to? What is the letter and number designation you are concerned about?

In 2018 generations and engines were swapped. You can check one debate we had about one of new engines Toyota released. Generally Toyotas in Europe don't last as long as ones in America.
