Hi Scotty,
Greetings from Australia!
I have 2000 V6 camry which still drives like dream (except the ABS light on), but I was looking to buy the new Toyota Fortuner with 2.8 turbo diesel. Was wondering about your opinion about it? I also would appreciate your comment about the new Honda CRV 1.5 turbo engine.
Thank you !
Regards
Kris
Scotty isn't a fan of those 1.5l turbo engines they wear out too fast and just are not a great design. You're trying to buy a brand new car?!?!? Are you high?? Dont EVER buy a brand new car. Your literally flushing your money down the toilet if you do this. These buy these if you value your money at all. The key word is used best USED.

Thanks for the link! Good advices there. The problem with the second hand Fortuners that they cost almost the same as the new ones...But the issues with the diesel particle filters makes me wonder about the toyota reliability .
Don't worry about buying a diesel car those thats big semi trucks and stuff. Regular old gas cars are perfectly fine. And shop around Autotempest.com is the best place to search for used cars and I bet you can easily find something much better than that Fortuners there. Click the advanced options on the side and I guarantee you'll find a good deal on a Honda or Toyota
Toyota fortuner are Good! Never heard any problems about it even the previous generations. Just the Rotor Disc that is so soft and always squeak when you hit the brakes. (Well it depends who manufactured the rotors, but its a common issue here in my country)
Compared to Ford Everest, I will pick the fortuner over it. Less hitech stuff less problem.
