Hey,
I've been recently searching for a vehicle after getting rear ended back in December. I'm torn between a Toyota highlander limited with 193,000 miles I can get for $9000. I'm worried that's far too many miles and it's getting on the high end of the SUV's useful life. Otherwise a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with 138,000 miles for $8000. Well maintained but not the MPG I'd like for roadtrips.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated it's hard to find a deal at 10k in this market.

Clarification: Which model year is the Highlander?
I'd go Tacoma. But make sure you get a mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection on it.
No worries I'm a aircraft mechanic. & I have a scanner to look at codes & fuel trim
One is a pickup and one is an SUV. What kind of vehicle do you need?
If you're not towing or hauling hay, then get the SUV.
Think of all the dry, secure space you have inside, room for passengers etc.
Tacoma.
I would say Tacoma, however depending on where it spent it's life make sure the frame isn't heavily rusted.
If you google 2005 Toyota Tacoma frame rust issues, there are quite a few sites listed.
I would say Tacoma as well.
