I am looking for a used Toyota Matrix with around 200,000km. my question is which generation is better and which one to avoid.

They are good cars. I would say get it. Even though the ones in America were not as good, they were still okay cars. I still see a lot around today.

I had a 2008 Matrix XR for 90,000 mi with no problems. This was the last year they were made in Canada (like Scotty's). I read the next generation US models were not as good as the Canada models.
