Bought it used in 2020. Paint fell off my RAV4. Even though I brought the car in TWICE before the deadline for repaint, they refused to repair the entire car. Now more paint is flying of the car and toyota said it is now the owners responsibility to repair a manufacturing flaw. Seems this is a common problem with toyota. No one will want this car looking like this. I can’t afford to paint it. I can’t trade it in. It is getting worse. What options are there? If this problem is so common why is no one talking about it?
If you search the board you'll see the Toyota paint problem has been talked about here several times in the past.
An option might be something like Maaco which is a lot less expensive than a traditional body shop paint job. Quality is variable, but I've seen some Maaco paint jobs that looked decent especially if the car didn't need body work. It would have to look better than peeling paint.
