Hey Scotty and community I'm looking to buy and purchase a 1993 Toyota 22RE pickup truck the only thing that's wrong with it the emergency brake don't work he told me to keep it on reverse whenever I want to park it and turn it off will this keep it from not rolling backwards or what shall I do help

But for this specific case, I would pass or have the parking brake fixed before you buy it.
no. reverse will stop it from rolling forward. 1st gear will keep it from rolling backwards. ( I assume it's manual transmission)
If you really must have this 28yo truck, I recommend you repair the park brake, or carry wheel chocks with you.
Why would you consider buying a truck in that condition, with that age?
I wouldn't even give it a second look.
Toyota Pickup if you can find one in good shape. Go for it. It’s a legendary truck.
in my area there are some modified Pickups are still wheeling in mountains and forests. They still run perfectly fine.
Have the seller fix the parking brake before you buy it. Keeping it in reverse is not a good idea, You don't want a truck rolling down the road in reverse. If the seller wont fix it find something else.
If it were me and its a really good price/condition (not rusted out either..be sure and check for rust), I'd buy it and just have the emergency brake fixed. Never depend on the transmission to stop you from rolling down the hill you parked it on.
