Terrible fuel milage

I have a 96 Ford f150 4.9l auto 162,xxx miles. I'm getting around 12.5 mpg including highway (65 mph). I've changed the fuel filter, idle air control valve, ran Lucas fuel system cleaner, and even switched back to non ethanol gas. I'm lost on what to do now.

You need an enhanced diagnostics/mode6/live data set of scans to look for either DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) or anomalies in live data. Time to probe all the sensors and the ECM with a better scan tool and see what's there.

Hopefully I can find someone trustworthy around me. I don't know someone with that kind of equipment unfortunately.

How long has this been occurring?  You didn’t mention the air filter - how does that look and was that changed?  Also, did you try the other items Scotty recommended below?

I got laid off from the pipeline last July. I haven't really driven said truck much other than around town, so I didn't really notice the mpg then. I've got a job now with a 52 mile commute a day, so I'm definitely noticing now. I pulled the air filter today and it looked good no debris in it, but I did order a couple from Napa with their filter sale happening at my local store. I'll watch the linked video, and go from there thank you.
