Toyota Secondary Air Injection

2008 4Runner 4.7 120000 mi creampuff is giving me all the dash lights for a 1445 OBDll code. I love this ride. Do I really need to have the intake pulled to fix secondary air injection for $4k. That's a lot of cash. What about the bypass kits? What to do? Thanks.

Doc is right.

The SAI is connected to the intake and failure will probably cause you engine trouble. You have a low mileage vehicle so I would just fix the valve.

Why would removing the intake cost $4k ? that's almost as much as a new engine.

Although I don't believe everything I see on the internet, $4k was the only price saw while researching this issue. It was all I had to go on. A more realistic estimate for this SAI repair would be appreciated, if you could. Thanks

A 100% realistic estimate can be obtained by picking up the phone and calling your local mechanic shop (better yes, a few of them). Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Doc, I understand the code, I'm hoping for some advice from someone who has had to repair this issue.
